The redness in these delicious balls plus a vegan optional twist on the beautiful red velvet cake inspired me to create these balls. They can be stored in an airtight container if you are lucky to have any left overs. To make the velvet balls you will need the following ingredients.
Red velvet balls.
- 100g medjool dates
- 100g roast hazelnuts
- 1tbsp peanut butter
- 130g cooked beetroot
- 1tbsp coconut oil
- 180g raw cacao powder
- Some coconut flakes for coating
- Step 1 Start by pitting the dates and soaking in warm water for a couple of minutes until the dates soften. Strain the dates.
- Step 2 Get your blender and add all the ingredients together and blend all your ingredients until you have a nice smooth paste. Roll into 12 balls and roll each ball into coconut flakes. Refrigerate for a couple of hours. Serve
