Pulled mushrooms in a mini hot dog.

The 8th edition of Served magazine is out and I got my copy from Adam’s fish shop in Mosta, yesterday afternoon so get your copy soon. This time round I was asked to create vegan junk food and I had so much fun doing this. Here is the first recipe and don’t forget some good mustard too. To make these delicious hot dog’s you will need,

Pulled mushrooms in a mini hot dog.

  • 1 onion
  • 200g mushrooms
  • 2tbsp vegetable stock
  • 1tsp ground cumin
  • 1tsp sage
  • A handful of parsley
  • Mustard
  • Olive oil
  • A few mini hot dog buns
  • Step 1 Peel and slice your onion, add to a pan with some olive oil and cook the onions. Add the cumin and sage and mix the ingredients together.
  • Step 2 Wash and slice the mushrooms and add to the pan. Add the stock and cook the mushrooms on a high heat.
  • Step 3 Remove off the heat and add the chopped parsley and mix.
  • Step 4 Warm your hot dogs on a grill, slice and fill with the mushrooms and add some mustard. You may add other sauces too if you wish.
