Burgers still make my mouth water and I love the fact that you can serve them with so many different options and they just all work well together! This time I added some veg to them too. I liked the idea of serving a burger on lettuce leaves, plus a dollop of your favourite mustard or relish, fold the leaves around the burger and dig in. So yummy. To make these burgers you will need the following,
LAMB BURGERS WITH VEG AND SERVED ON LETTUCE LEAVES.
- 500g minced lamb
- 1tbsp ground cumin
- 1 red onion
- 2 carrots
- 1 zucchini
- 2tbsp rolled oats
- A handful of fresh basil
- 1 egg
- Coconut oil
- Step 1 Prepare the mince by breaking it up with a fork into a bowl. Set aside.
- Step 2 Get your blender and add the basil, onion, cumin, your washed zucchini and peeled carrots together with the seasoning and mix for two seconds. Then add the mince to the ingredients plus your egg and oats and mix all together for two minutes. You should be able to make nice sized burgers with your hands at this stage and all the ingredients should be mixed well together.
- Step 3 Get a pan and heat up some coconut oil. Once heated add the burgers and cook on both sides. They may also be baked in the oven should you prefer but I wanted the crunchy top. With the above ingredients I made 8 burgers.
- Step 4 Wash some lettuce leaves and place a burger on each one and prepare some accompaniments before serving.
