Should you wish to try this stuffing which is created from the original sage and onion stuffing, or prepare this dish to serve up as a main or a side dish, give it a try. It’s tasty and healthy too, plus the walnuts add to the crunchiness, so what is there not to like about this. To make this recipe you will need,
A lentil and sage stuffing
- 200g puy lentils
- 1.5 tbs dried sage
- 1 onion
- 2tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 fresh celery stick
- Coconut oil
- A handful of crushed walnuts
- Step 1 Start by boiling the lentils in a pot of hot water. Once they are cooked strain and set aside.
- Step 2 Get a pan, add the coconut oil and heat. Add the peeled and chopped onion and cook the onion in the dried sage. Add the chopped celery stick and mix the ingredients. Add the breadcrumbs, season and add the lentils. Mix everything together on a low heat and season.
- Step 3 Sprinkle the crushed walnuts over before serving. With these quantities you can serve three to four side servings.
