Strawberry Shake

Strawberry Shake

Fat is one of the body’s most basic building blocks. However I tend to be weary of fat in my diet and brought this up in one of my fitness sessions with my dear Suzi Grech. Besides thoroughly enjoying her sessions we seem to chat non stop about food and the importance of food and a balanced diet. We both are passionate about food and nutrition and can chat about food until the cows come home. Suzi, stressed on the importance of fat in our diet and told me how our body needs the right kind of fat. Suzi explained to me how good fat is essential to manage our moods, stimulate our brain, fight fatigue and even control our weight. Suzi also explained how the right fat increases metabolism, reduces hunger and your risk of heart disease.

I was intrigued to say the least and as we carried on discussing this, amidst sets of weights and lunges, I suddenly became quite excited on featuring a milkshake that Suzi mentioned she made that day. Suzi also went on to emphasise that the ingredients below form part of the medium chain fatty acids which are easily digested, absorbed and utilised by the body. This milkshake is high in protein and healthy fats. Makes a great start to the day or as a mid morning snack and best part of it is, it is a very satiating drink.
